Study Abroad: Abu Dhabi

I was fortunate enough to study abroad during the spring semester of my second year at NYU. I chose to study abroad at NYU Abu Dhabi. Here I was able to take courses such as Bioimaging and Physical Chemistry that aligned with my academic interests. During my time in Abu Dhabi, I also participated in extracurriculars such as the basketball team and the dance club. Since the campus itself is so diverse and halfway across the world, I was also able to learn about all different cultures and had immersive experiences that taught me about the traditions, customs, and daily lifestyles of various nationalities. This experience gave me a new perspective on the world and showed me how sometimes cultural differences can act as a barrier and should be considered when designing solutions to engineering problems. This semester gave me the skills to be cognizant and respectful of other lifestyles and taught me the mindset I should have when trying to accomplish my mission statement of finding a global solution to improve health literacy.
